Interesting news. How many people were originally expected to "stream" using this service?

Hmm, this is pretty good news. Hopefully with these ratings, so to speak, they could acquire more anime to stream. I haven't gone on in about a week, but it's sweet to see the success of this program. I hope it continues.

9.5 Million streams in one month......congrats Toonami! This is pretty amazing, I honestly didn't think it was going be this big. I remember when [AS] was (still is I think) doing the Fix. I remember that it was nice idea for the first week but then I stop watching it.

Wow. Well what did they exspect? I mean dubbed Anime + Internet x Legal & Free = a bunch of people wanting to watch it. I'm sort of with Malintex Terek, I want to know how many people they were estemating to come to the site....
On a slightly off topic question, how does one accsess the site? I mean nothing pops up when I click the banner...ever. And I have the minimum requirements. |

Am I the only person who can't get it to work?
Every time I try to watch anything on this, it buffers every minute or so for about ten to fifteen seconds. I can't even get through the openings. |

Maybe this'll convince them to make it availabe to Canada, unlikly, but maybe. Three months between volumes of Hikago as opposed to one episode per week...well, the choice seems obvious. Not really much else of interest exept maybe PoT.

That's right. Every Friday and Saturday, I go to Toonami Jetstream to watch cartoons and I like it. I enjoy Hikaru No. Go, MAR, Prince of Tennis.

I hope they have it available for Firefox, as it messes up on IE for me and I would really like to check this out.
I'm also interested on how many they were expecting. I never would have thought something like this would be so huge. |

I think it's great that the site did well...that's a good sign for anime on the internet. And I must say that the Hikaru no Go dub is pretty decent...the voices aren't bad and the translation is good. And they kept the opening song in Japanese. Which is more than I can say for the PoT dub. Let's just say I almost threw up when I heard the opening/closing/voice of ryoma/fuji/tezuka/changing of twist serve to "kick serve" ... Viz has some serious brain damage right now. Hopefully they release the DVD with Japanese audio and subtitles...or I may just have to pay Viz a little visit with my uncle Vito and cousin Vinny.

I am wondering how this is going to pay off, I mean since now they have so many hits it sounds like they will be making more money. I am just curious on how much the respective companies want for there properties being broadcast at a low quality, compared to being broadcast on televison. One thing for sure though, you can track a lot better who sees your ads on the internet vs. Nielson families. On a lighter note pretty soon we will be getting this kind of stuff DVD quality, as broadband increases. This all assumes they are not lying about ther numbers like google does though. But I don't expect they would do such a thing on such a new project, too many people will want to go over the numbers. |

Thank you! You're the second person I've seen so far that didn't bash the vastly underrated Hikago dub. Now, on the topic of Jetstream, here's to hoping it get's relesed up here in the great white north. They'd probably have to work out something with YTV and Teletoon (networks with the canadian broadcasting rights to Naruto*, Samurai Jack* and Megas XLR**) but as far as I know, both networks are relitivly agreeable. *YTV **Teletoon |

Well, obviously companies go with what gives them the best publicity. Not every show can make it onto TV because of executives worrying how the ratings will do, so they go for the next best thing, the internet. And I'm sure companies don't care about the low quality on the internet; in fact, I'm sure the low quality might be a motivation for people to pick up the better quality DVDs if they enjoy the show. If a low quality internet broadcast leads to the purchase of a higher quality DVD, I don't see why companies would be concerned. Besides, if the show does well enough on the internet, it might end up on TV. Who knows? |
