Harshest review ever.

I watched a few episodes of this awhile back, I simply said "meh" and moved on to something else. I feel terribly sorry for anyone who made the mistake of purchasing this, though.

I think it's $19.99 at Best Buy... which for 9 episodes and the free month (if the person buying isn't already playing Ragnarok Online/doesn't have an existing account that is) it really isn't -that- bad.

Dunno much about the story though, I only watched a few episodes (couldn't stand having to watch that ugly male main character) and had the fun of reading the forums of people who played Ragnarok going "A Swordsman and Acolyte could not beat the Golden Thief Bug!!!!! D:" and other such things...

I think if a person finds it cheap, they might as well give it a look. To each their own anyway, I think there are some people who might actually like it for one reason or another...

THAT bad? Really? I watch a few episodes back when I was far too into Ragnarok, and I thought it wasn't bad, assuming you like Ragnarok universe to begin with. I guess if you don't like the game though, there's no reason to like the anime.

I've seen the series up to ep 20, and i can also say that this show is a joke. The only good ep was ep 13, wherespoiler[Roan goes emo and leaves the group to get stronger, Haze/Keough laughes at Roan for being weak, and Roan meets up with old enemies and then joins them.]
Other than that, its a total waste of time, i cant believe funi is wasting time even dubbing this :\

Didn't really intend to watch this, but I couldn't talk my brother out of buying it and I had nothing better to watch (in two sittings, no way I was watching it all at once). Am I the only one that thought the implied rape scene in Maaya's flashback was extremely out of place and inappropriate? Can't say I really appreciate forced "shock value" like that and can't really see any need for it in an anime like this.

i can't believe i actually finished the series way back when fansub was available...

it was so predictable and with horrid storyline i hate my myself for watching this awful tripe of animation...

if anyone buys this thing, they're either REAL anime hoard or fan of Ragnarok...

i wouldn't watch the DVD even if the DVDs were free...i hate to see what dubs are like....

Well I actually did buy this for some odd reason myself, and I haven't watched it yet out of pure fear of that purchase, but the review has me setup for failure so I can't imagine I'll like it any less than the reviewer did. This probably makes me more likely to pick it up sometime just to see how bad it really is.

Oh my. Seems my reaction to the first episode, I failed to even finish, was spot on. Some 5 minutes into the first episode I slammed stop and vowed never to touch this steaming pile of ox droppings ever again.

Um, the DVDs do have the Japanese audio track, so there's no need to watch the English dub if you don't want to.

Judging from this review, I'm glad I never even wasted bandwidth on this series, let alone $$$. It's too bad the dub has only slight re-writes...maybe the Desert Punk or Ghost Stories treatment could've turned Ragnarok into something entertaining.

It's called a cash-in on the games popularity (is it popular? I've never played it). I never fall for this type of crap though.

After watching the first episode on a preview disc, I'll have to admit this show seemed weak. I don't know if I disliked it as much as this review, but it pretty much helped me decide that I didn't care to go out and buy it.

Only a few had ever accomplished being at least decent, but to hear about this travesty......

.....would at least try to rent first if I ever feel suicidal enough to check it out.

And here I thought ANN was gonna turn into AnimeOnVHSTape.com.

I get a "so-so / passing" review from Trinity Blood (which I marathoned and plan on keeping). And I get a view that seems to be shared about Ragnarok.

The sky seems to have fallen in Japan's anime industry. And I was hoping that the US wasn't gonna be turned into some dumping ground for all of these badly-done titles. Thanks again, Bandai Visual USA.

And Funi was doing so well. Oh well. Maybe it was a better idea for them to sell 9 episodes at around 30.00 market rate.

Wait...how on earth is this BVUSA's fault? There have always been crappy anime, and there always will be crappy anime. BVUSA has nothing to do with Funimation liscensing this.
