That's a lot of Youtube links for one article. Regardless, nice to see some new content being streamed without strings, especially by Kadokawa themselves.
Now we need less popular shows to receive the same treatment.

On an unrelated note, the new OP caught me by surprise- are those QM spin eigenequations flying past the screen as Haruhi runs in front of a white background?

Actually, if they continue this "The Boredom of Yuki" literally ENDLESS Eight stuff, this season will be awful. The second episode of that arc was enough to signify what happening and that we get it, the third episode was just exhausting. Anymore more will be the death for this.

Probably quite likely. I didn't pay enough attention to the OP to check. I know they have quark names flying around and stuff. I might just not have taken some of the other stuff in because I get exposed to enough of it at Uni...

Edit: Yeah there's just a lot of QM and stuff flying around. I spy commutation relations for spin for example.

walw6pK4Alo, I hear you, but I am looking at it this way... usually there is always something within an ep that points somewhere else, and the amusing thing to me is finding it and figuring it out... spoiler[the endless eights are all different, and that's important. What is it on the list that Haruhi doesn't cross off? I can't read Japanese, so maybe it's irrelevant. She talks about getting the tedious stuff out of the way first so does that mean more than it says? Will the 16,000th time be the charm? Notice how they are all getting more and more depressed, once they figure it out? Don't have a clue as to what they will make different to get out of the loop, esp since I've never read any of the LN's but I can wait. Esp. because of the interaction between Yuki and Kyon. It's so very subtle, but Yuki cannot by nature miss anything. The things she reveals to Kyon are important, even though he has to ask first. She would never tell such things to anyone else. IMHO anyway...]

Kudos to Kadokawa for getting this stuff out so soon...

Good move by Kadokawa, when you've got subs from the company that made the animation themselves available for free, why would any decent anime fan still want to download fansubs?

No, the second and third episode of Endless Eight were nigh indistinguishable, minus aesthetic changes. Anyone who knows what happens in the novel knows that the differences between those two episodes won't help figure it out at all. For as gutsy a move as this is, to run with a narrative device the way Kyoto Animation has, there's a reason you don't see it more often, and that's because, generally, people hate it. It's boring. And, perhaps more importantly, that's two full episodes that they could have spent animating other stories that are at least as good. THAT is what really ticks me off.

If you can find enjoyment in slight differences, more power to you. But I for one can't stand re-used animation (albeit slightly different camera angles) re-used dialog, re-used everything else. If I wanted to watch the same thing all over again in a brand new TV series, I'd watch Shuffle! Memories. I for one hope last week's episode was the end, I don't want to watch the SAME episode over and over. I hope people can finally realize Kyo-Ani aren't these immaculate gods of animation, they're as manipulative and cheap as Sunrise or others. They milk Haruhi as much as Gainax milks Eva.

Because they still want higher video quality.

They felt different to me immediately, but I figured it would be a different experience if you had read the LN's. Your point about narrative device is quite true, I would have liked it much more if they had changed whose point of view was represented each time. Alot, alot, especially Mikaru's.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
we'll see next time.
we'll see next time.
we'll see next time.

The lament about burning ep's, I can agree with that...

I think it's cool that Kyoto Animation hasn't had their brains poisoned by Haruhi's popularity and turned the second season into a mindless service-fest of giving the fans exactly what they want. They're still willing to play with the series as much as they did in the first season and stay true to its twisted sense of fun and experimentalism. I admire them for that.

Also, different scene perspective = redrawing the scene, so it technically is different animation.

Because Kadokawa yanks the episodes off of YouTube and ANN after less than two weeks, thereby rendering the entire effort pointless.

You do have a point there, but there is something to be said for trying to ensure DVD sales.

The video and audio quality seem fine as is, considering that its on Youtube. You want higher quality, how about you actually shell out the cash for the DVDs when they come out? Even if its only for a limited amount of time, you are still getting it for free and in a legal manner. Don't complain too much, it just makes you sound like a bunch of greedy freeloaders. Cool move on KyoAni's part but I'm about to call it quits on the new season of Haruhi for reasons that have been said before in this thread. I'm really glad to see some Japanese groups working on more digital distribution though especially with English subtitles.
