I thought the same thing. I have no idea how they are going to make this horror-ific like the VAs and shows.

Then again, they did make a Mahjong anime already....so anything is possible!

I guess Higurashi Rei 5 was epic enough to warrant this.

Well the part in Rei was pretty epic, but it was only a few scenes out of the episode.

This is going to be interesting to see how they play things out.

Oh god, a manga copy of Higurashi Jan Anime hyper I never got to play it (yet), but it looked cool, so I am looking forward to it.

*Note: Higurashi Jan is the name of the arcade/PSP Higurashi game where, as you can guess, you play mahjong. The punishment games in that game are just...wow.

*Edit:
By the way, its supposed to be "Jan", not "Jong" in the article Anime hyper

By god, I can see Keiichi beating rena and mion down to death by using ether the table (somehow...) or one of the manjong peices....

Well, if this manga is going to be based off the Higurashi Jan game, it will probably be like the first and last episodes of Rei: joke chapters.

Ditto on the second point!

Ah, ok. I'm just used to seeing "Jan" used by other translators. Whichever works, I guess.
