You guys should probably add in an automate feature for the insertion of the "some jokes fall flat" critique when critiquing a comedy anime...because, face it... EVERY comedy anime you guys review...will have that in there.
But, it's kind of weird; this type of show usually isn't my cup of tea, but for some reason I'm finding myself curious enough to give it a look-see. |

But is that due to the writing or the acting? Koyasu is pretty damned impressive for my money, but is it funny no matter who had been cast in the role? |

Christ, I can't believe this show got licensed over here. I had no frekin idea!
I remeber reading this when it was being scaned and released on the net. I remeber that time being naive in thinking that not all harem mangas and animes were all the same. To anyone that wishes to see this show, SKIP IT!. You are not missing anything. The show and the anime go NO WERE at all. It is the same damn thing over and over and over agian for the entire anime and the entire manga. I was left with nothing but emptiness inside me when i was done! I wish a had all that time of my life back reading this garbage. Had the anime or manga gone anywhere story wise it would be note worthy but for the sake of the mind it does not and should burn for all eternity in last gate of hell in the jaws of the three headed monster! |

And... cut! Ugh. I despise this scenario and reading the review instantly places this series in the "If it's $19.99 or less, it's mine but not a penny more!" category. Though I did find the elephants interruption to be slightly comical (am curious to how the elephants arrived, en masse, to begin with), I'm certainly not shelling out the cash to find out. Someone spoil it for me. As one who hasn't seen a scene (heh) of this series, I enjoyed the review. Gave me all the information I needed to put this series on hold for quite some time until those otaku bore of buying it and the sales price commences. And here Theron seemed apprehensive at writing this. Now for my only gripe about the review: why not show an image of the sexiest girl in her panty shot?

Holy cow, I might actually check this out. I went into the review hoping for a few chuckles at the expense of YET ANOTHER HAREM SHOW, but... I dunno, it sounds pretty fun. (And who says this one isn't for girls? It's not like we're allergic to fanservice or anything. If you've been an anime fan long enough, you get used to it.)

Maybe. But after a couple of episodes, the series gets so repetitive, utterly flat and dead boring, that even the early good number of effective laughs shrinks to zero. About the fanservice that is left as the only valid point now, you might rather invest your money and go buy a revealing Lala figurine. |

Good timing on the review, I just marathoned the second disk of the series yesterday. (Just to get it over and done with.) A grade of B- to C is pretty fair. I picked up the disk because I remember seeing a few fan-subbed episodes and seemed to recall they were fun and fan servicey. However, after episode after episode of non-stop jokes, it kind of wears thin after awhile. I guess I could have put up with it a little more if there was just a little more seriousness to it, but there isn't. I appreciate that our hero Rito Yuuki actually makes attempts to be serious about the things happening around him, but comic timing always undermines his and the show's efforts. I'll be hard pressed to get the second half if it is just more of the same.

Your description has given me the motivation to check this series out. I will rent it first, then decided if I want to but it or not. This looks one of those shows that it might be better to watch when your mad drunk. |

I fully understand why many didn't like this, and I do agree that that it's entirely possible that this kind of content will eventually get old enough in the series to completely wipe out its positives. I went into this set expecting to hate it based on having seen the first episode fansubbed, but once I got past the rocky start I was astonished by how much it actually entertained me despite how tired I am of these same old retread gimmicks. Had I seen this before I did the 2009 Year in Review piece, this would have unquestionably been my Guilty Pleasure.
Depends on the scene. There are a couple of places (especially early on) whether the style of line delivery is absolutely essential to Zastin's comic appeal, while there are other places (especially later on) where the writing and artistry were the key factors. |

Show gets Crap disk count which leads to badly encoded Frisbee.
Pretty much Sentai's bread and butter at this point. |

Awesome show because it diverges from the norm of most harem, school-life shows. Uniqueness is always a good thing. I would also say White Album but it didn't go as well as I had hoped <_< |

WOW. It's been quite awhile since a review has gotten me this interested in a series. I'm overdue for a new harem romantic comedy anyway. Sweet!
