During the Funicon it seemed alot of people were disappointed or annoyed that they only showed license rescues however I think it's more then likely a good thing.

It makes sense for Funi to get the license rescues out of the way as they create less excitement then new shows and the best way to do that was via the Funicon.

I would not be at all surprised now if everything they announce at the upcoming cons are all new shows alot of people have been waiting for.

Not bad, I hope more people will try out Kaleido Star anyway. Now when will they announce a Paranoia Agent rescue? At least Kaleido Star is still readily available on DVD, can't say the same for some of the Paranoia Agent singles.

Meh. Only like Gantz and I already own Adv's fantastic release. Now a bluray on the other hand, would tempt me quite a lot!

Oh nice, been wanting to watch Chrono Crusade. I will watch the streamed episodes but I'm glad I picked up every volume of the single DVDs from ADV (except for 3).

Meh.

Chrono Crusade: Just got all 7 volumes plus the box

Gantz: I've been eyeing a couple of those Gantz Balls on Ebay

Other Two: Not interested

Oh well. My buy list is big enough as it is.

Wait, Funimation just picked up Gonzo-produced license rescues? I am shocked by this sudden and unprecedented turn of events. Neutral

No you wouldn't. Those anime are from pretty early 2000's and would look like really shitty upscales. Read: will look like Trinity Blood

Kaleido Star is a great series. Already own it, however. The others have interested me at some point over the past few years, but it would take some low prices to get me to spring for the FUNi re-releases.

I'm so happy! I love these shows and the low prices for boxsets funimation is coming out with. Now I can afford to buy them all when they are re-released! Wink

I'd be willing to pick up a S.A.V.E collection of Peace Maker Kurogane, as I did somewhat enjoy watching that one years and years ago.

It's a shame they never animated the sequel manga though...

I already have all of these. In fact, I have all the releases of Chrono Crusade. There really won't be any need for me to grab the Funi versions, especially since the video quality will likely look worse.

I might be interested in a Chrono Crusade bluray, even though I would likely never watch it.

I can't see what they expect to get out of Kaleido Star though. That show never did particularly well for ADV.

FUNI needs to start understanding that video quality of six subbed and dubbed episodes is going to look like ass. The videos just look compressed. It's one of the reasons I'm flaky on buying FUNI DVD's.

They really should redub Peace Maker! I watched the dub once and it was one of the most horrid dubs i have ever heard in my life.

I have a quick question: Are these rescues/relicenses pretty much pure profit? I mean, the dubs/subs* are already done and all you have to do is make new discs and packaging, right? Are license rescues the reason Funimation is on top?

*I know they have to pay to use the dub, but it has to be cheaper than making a whole new one.
