Uh... are you guys sure that was a trailer for Summer Wars and not Maple Story? Laughing

Are people who know nothing about Summer Wars really supposed to be drawn in by a trailer that's a faux-ad for what appears to be some kiddie MMO? I can tell FUNimation is really serious about getting that Oscar. Rolling Eyes

Small problem with your logic, this wasn't a trailer in the technical sense. This is the actual first two minutes of the movie as in, this is how the movie starts.

And I know I would be drawn in by that art.

Seems pretty cool. I just wish I didn't have to go into the city to see it in theaters.

That would be a factual error and not a logical one. Surprised

Anyway, I guess I didn't realize that it wasn't a trailer. My mistake. I'm confused as to why they'd release a video like that at all to promote the title. Whatever.

I'm going to go ahead and resent this post as the title of the article and this topic is "English Summer Wars, Hybrid Deka Trailers Posted". It should be easy to see why people may be confused. Embarassed

can't wait for funi to release this on DVD. really enjoyed this movie.

So the Oz introducer is Juiz's from Eden of the East English voice actress? Oz guardians were named after John Lennon and Yoko Ono? I wonder who the fan was on the creative team.

I agree that 2 min sneak peek does not entice the viewer to want to see the film. The first FUNimation trailer was better.

Man, how lazy are FUNi dubs that they can't even remove the Japanese audio track from that computer before using the English track? Laughing

But that was how the original was. In the original, it played the japanese audio track with the English in the back...oooooh, I get it.

Think of it as an example of Oz's simultaneous translation. It's not that distracting imo.

This trailer absolutely blew me away. The intensity of it actually gave me kind of excited chills. Chills I haven't felt since first seeing Kakurenbo or Spirited Away.

The art style and animation remind me of the 1st Digimon movie, Our War Games, which I've heard others on images boards confirm this. I'm beyond eager to see this now. I have a very good feeling I'll be adding it to my DVD collection by '11. Anime hyper

Whoever is narrating has delivery a lot like Mary Elizabeth McGlyn. This is a good thing. Still haven't seen this - the film was actually shown only a few minutes walk away from me a week ago, but it wasn't exactly well advertised and I only found out the day before, and was unavailable at the time regardless.
