Well, shoot, I wonder what happened. I was looking forward to watching Future Diary on there. Hope they get everything resolved soon.

I'm more curious what's up with Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai.
It was in the original press release but it's not even listed on the site.

If there were any doubts about the NicoNico/Funimation partnership being legit, they're dispelled now.

Glad to see that Funimation is so skilled at delays that they can get NicoNico started down that same path only a few scant days into the partnership.

I was afraid that Funimation might start to go downhill as a result of the partnership. Glad to see that isn't happening. (I had faint hopes that they'd improve as a result, but let's be honest here.)

... but none of these delayed shows are Funimation-licensed shows. I think these are the shows that Niconico announced on their own.

I think this limited partnership gives Funimation a place to stream their shows, so far. It's not like Funimation bought Niconico and controls everything it does.

So basically, they announced this big plan, made a bunch of noise about improving niconico, and then couldn't even get one episode in without encountering a problem that dragged the whole enterprise to a halt. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence going forward.

Who are you talking about? Niconico or Funimation?

Funimation's two shows (Guilty Crown, Last Exile) seem to be streaming as planned, its just these other 3 Niconico shows that are the problem. It seems to me that it is Niconico's problem, which doesn't really surprise me given what I have seen from them so far...

Not exactly, since Guilty Crown Episode 02 was planned for Oct 20th as well, but while it was added to Funimation.com on time, it is nowhere to be found on NicoNico over 12 hours later. No such issues with Guilty Crown Episode 01 which went up at both sites at around the same time.

Below are the channel links (which NicoNico recently removed all traces of) for the two series so far. It's been an ongoing problem that NicoNico's web designer seems to have made it his job to make the simulcasts as hard to find and follow on a weekly basis as possible.

Guilty Crown
http://ch.niconico.com/channel/ch60156

Last Exile
http://ch.niconico.com/channel/ch60160

The clock is ticking, as they now have less than three months before Winter season starts to get back on track with this season, as well as prep for launching their premium subscription model.

so shows nico nico got have been delayed even more, go figure. I think nico is to blame for this not funimation, as funimation is supposed to be handling only the dvd side of the equation and niconico is supposed to be handling the streaming side

Well damn.

This just sucks .

Jeez, i've been wanting to see FD for so long. Seen a part/clip or maybe that OVA/Pilot thing somewhere and was really looking forward to it. Watched the first ep... couldn't wait for the second...

And like, I was just thinking about it right before I seen this Anime cry .

Please oh please don't make me wait forever for this....

I hope they have a good reason for the delay Anime cry .
Can't imagine whats wrong, but I personally don't think its anything to do with Funi. Like someone else said, Funi's streaming their things just fine. Seems like Niconico's issue.
Which makes me dread that it'll be a short while before whatever it is, is fixed.

I was wondering the same thing, like, why only those 3 titles?

I hope Funimation and NicoNico didn't run into some last-minute licensing issues with the publishers or studios or something.

Funi/Nico were being really secretive about this whole license-sharing deal.

This is just pure speculation, but perhaps the licensors (the studios or whoever) weren't informed of this deal, and took issue to it when Funi/Nico randomly made the big announcement.

I know that a few days before the actual airing in Japan, the official Last Exile Fam site announced the international showing in the US would be on the "Funimation.Entertainment and Hulu.com websites" and made no mention of any kind of NicoNico stream.

Just because NicoNico and Funimation have separate licenses for separate shows doesn't necessarily allow them to merge all of a sudden and share them.

I just hope the studios, publishers, Nico, and Funi can all work something out if there really is a licensing issue.

Normally a license also allows sub-licensing, especially in the case of Funimation's full scope license of Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing-.
