So much hate for Toyosaki in the comments. But I kind of agree, her voice does not fit at all.

How so? I don't think it is bad at all. Of course, Medaka has more than one type of voice, so we cannot maky any conclusions yet but her basic Medaka voice fits fine.

after watching the preview a couple times i think ai fits quite nicely to the role of medaka.

People hate it now but wait  . Maybe like a year or two after that anime is done, some company licenses it for english release. Then they see the dub and say "wtf this is utter sh*t"...
It's just like with Mirai Nikki's voice for Yuno people must've clearly gotten use to her voice or else I don't see how they would've continued watching the show.

Not sure if want, this could be either very good or horrible to a fault. I still wanted Miyuki Sawashiro using her Iwasawa Masami voice or Maaya Sakamoto with her Ryougi Shiki voice but what is done is done

Aki Toyosaki is a pretty good VA imo. She currently voices Aoi Kunieda in Beelzebub and she definitely has alot of potential. This show has potential as well, so looking forward to it.

Originally it was Megumi Toyoguchi who voiced Medaka in the VOMIC (voice over comic) format. Toyoguchi has been known to play tough girls (as well as cute, high-pitched girls-which Medaka has been known to show) so, to me, it was a good fit. Toyosaki on the other hand, I see her low voice fitting towards younger male charas. So in Beelzebub, I don't like her role in that one either.
Or maybe it's just that I'm not used to it yet. Who knows, I might just enjoy her voice after a few runs.

Sounds fine to me. Before I could only see Toyosaki doing bubbly, cheerful roles but her work on Beelzebub really surprised me. She definitely has the ability to play Medaka.
