Episode eleven was a punch in the gut. Of the good, "shit just got real" kind. Boy am I keen to see what happens in the second half.

Nice, well-considered review. With episode 11, it feels like the series' potential has been shown, and I look forward to seeing the direction it goes in now.

I'm confused by the part in the review where it basically says certain parks are dark so it's hard to see stuff...what?... lol! I've never had such an issue O.o! What media player are you using O.O. Anyways great review and the show is awesome!

This show has the most ridiculous premise, its like a poor man's minority report. But the sad thing is the psychic aspect of minority is more plausible or palatable than this coefficient nonsense. I dont know whats more ridiculous that they approved the system or that someone does nothing about it. Clearly it measures things like stress and the like, not the actual probability of committing a crime. I mean I almost stopped watching after a rape victim was considered extermination worthy. Clearly the main character is a criminal waiting to happen, and a kid being judged a latent criminal at 5. Oh and then the villain is magically immune, oops we cant do anything.
Also the fact that Amano did the character style was a bad choice, her style is suited to shonen/battle style manga like reborn, not something dark. Hell main female character is basically haru, which does not instill confidence. Seriously people are better watching something like Minority report, or even Zettai Karen children over this. |

To avoid glare, I use the extremely novel technique of drawing the curtains. Amazing how we now have pillows that double as plushies - truly a wonderful idea if there ever was one - and yet segments of the human race still allow themselves to be affected by something so easily prevented as glare. |

I think this is not the problem of the show as it is a problem of Funimation streaming.I could barely see what was going on in episode 10 so I checked out fansubs and I saw everything clearly. Anyway good review,I am expecting series to explode in its second season although I heard that first three news episodes will be Yayois flashback.It seems like she was an idol.

Easily my favorite show this season and one of my top five this year. I really like cop-thriller and I was very hooked by most of the cases. Something I particularly like is how the show itself leads you to question Sybil, even if the characters don't openly do so and mostly trust its decisions blindly -episode 11 being the extreme consequence of this. The cliffhanger for the inter-season was amazing and I just can't wait for more
I didn't think I'd have to redirect someone to this when it's been less than a week. Seriously, with the world the way it is, I don't think it's such a stretch Also, might as well stop trying to tell people what to and what not to watch |

So I am the guy, who points out that the piece of music, which is featured in episodes 7, 8 and 10, is the 4th movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, also known as "Ode to Joy", not "Rule, Britannia!".

You beat me to it, though Rule, Britannia! would have been...funnier. Otherwise, i agree with most of the review (though i find the 'minus-comments' a bit...odd) and i'm really looking forward to the second half of this series. |

A very even-handed review.
I completely agree that a lot of the action gets obscured by darkness especially in the recent fight that takes place in an underground metro.
And I completely agree with this. Even though I find these philosophical conversations interesting, I keep getting the feeling sometimes that its done solely for the viewer's benefit. It pulls me out of the show. I wish Gen would exercise a little more subtlety. |

Damnit! I knew I shouldn't have phrased the question to my classical-music-playing-sister as "This is 'Rule Britannia,' right?"  Sorry about that...
Having just done as you did, yes, the problem is the Funi stream rather than the actual show, although I still find it too dark in color scheme overall.
That was my first move - okay, my second; the first was to tell the cat that he couldn't stand in front of the screen - which was why I felt the need to mention it. I do love those plushy pillow hybrids, though. Especially the Squishables. |

Yeah this review sounds about right. I'm loving the show so far but I do agree that sometimes it gets a bit too philisophical for its own good. Especially when there are times where you literally have the villains just sitting around for five minutes at a time talking about it. It's interesting sure, but that can definently be a turn off for some people. The show is really picking up steam though and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends. Dunno if it'll reach Madoka levels of awesome but it's a pretty great ride so far.

I agree that Psycho Pass is too philosophical at times. In the first couple episodes so many flaws with the enforcer technology were revealed that I was seriously questioning how the show was going to justify the police using such technology. It's not as bad as I thought, but there are parts in the series where common sense is trumped to entice drama, especially since their guns are "unlocked". The unlocking of the guns is an easy plot device for tension because the detectives are limited until the suspect actually displays more aggression.
