Probably because it doesn't have enough jiggles. 
And hey, we all know how accurate rating websites are when it comes to something actually having merit 
Loved this manga too, and I, too, looked forward to my weekly installments. Damn, what is with everything I'm reading ending within the next couple weeks/months? Sooo depressing. Next you'll tell me that Aya Shouoto's "Junketsu + Kareshi" or "Barajou no Kiss" will be ending. |

I too loved reading this. The art wasn't bad at all and the story was simple and entertaining. The ending was whatever but that's what you get when the series is abruptly canceled.

Eeeh? There was a manga about Kendo in Shonen Jump? I've always wanted to read a manga about kendo, but I don't think I'll try to read this. A cancelled series means it got an abrupt and most likely awful ending. It's a shame, I know that's how WSJ works, but it's really sad to see a story that had a lot of potential go down the drain because it didn't gather enough popularity in its initial chapters. This is why I stick to the rule of not picking up any weekly manga that has less than 100 chapters and/or hasn't been made into anime

That's a terrible rule. There are plenty of great series that don't reach one hundred chapters simply because that's how the mangaka wanted it and they were able to end it on their own terms. Quality over quantity. |

But specifically in the case of WSJ, manga is usually aimed to be long-running, and mangaka are not really allowed to end stuff whenever they want. When it doesn't achieve that goal, it's usually because it was cancelled, thus gets a rushed ending. I know of very few -if any- SJ titles that have achieved the "ending when the mangaka wants to" in a relatively short time.
