Never though Ayres could also be an ADR Director as well. I though Liam O Brien was the only VA that also did ADR work.

Either way if he's the ADR then the dubbing should be preety good.

definitely would give this series a shot.

It's actually more common than you'd think, and has been for years. Colleen Clinkenbeard has been ADR Director on part or all of more than a score of titles, Jamie Marchi has directed part or all of a handful of dubs, Wendee Lee was ADR Director for all of the Love Hina franchise and about a score of other titles, J. Michael Tatum has directed parts of several series, and that's just naming the four that I can think of off the top of my head. Monica Rial has also done some directing, although she much more commonly gets involved in the script writing.

In fact, if dub actors have heavily been involved with anime for a long time then it's almost more unusual for them to have not dipped their toes in the directing (or more commonly scriptwriting) waters at some point. Doubtless for some it's a way of earning a bit of extra money, but it's also a natural step for someone that wants to be heavily involved in the entertainment biz but is unlikely to ever have a major TV/movie/video career.
