Anime Expo 2005
Anime Expo - Dark Horse

by Mikhail Koulikov,
Representative: Carl Horn

Repeating many of the announcements made at Anime Central earlier this year, Carl went over the manga release schedule in the next few months.

What's Michael? volume 10 and Samurai Executioner volume 2 are currently out, the first unflipped volume of Oh My Goddess! (volume 21) will debut later in July, volume 7 of Hellsing in August and volume 1 of Japan, by Fist of the North Star creator Buronson and Berserk creator Kentarō Miura, and volume 1 of Lady Snowblood in September. At this point, the US release of Hellsing will essentially catch up to what is available in tankoubon form in Japan. Other upcoming manga titles include the hard-SF Eden, the first volume of which is due out in November, the Gungrave animanga (January 2006), Octopus Girl (March 2006), Museum of Terror, and Horror Stories.

Dark Horse will also be publishing two Yoshitaka Amano artbooks (Fairies and Le Mond Amano) and his manga adaptation of the classic Tale of Genji, a volume of character and other art by Katsuya Terada (Blood: The Last Vampire character designer), and Mamoru Oshii's Blood: The Last Vampire: Night of the Beast novel. As many as ten other new manga and novel properties will be announced later this month at SDCC.
