New York Anime Festival and ICv2 Conference on Anime and Manga
Bandai Entertainment

by Mikhail Koulikov,

Bandai Entertainment President Ken Iyadomi opened the company's panel by screening a new trailer for Code Geass that premiered earlier during the convention at the panel dedicated to the series. At the same earlier panel, the voice cast for the series was confirmed. Among the main characters, Lelouch will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, CC by Kate Higgins, Suzaku by Yuri Lowenthal, and Shirley by Amy Kincaid. Code Geass is set to air on Adult Swim. Bandai has also licensed the three Code Geass manga, as well as the Geass light novel. The official Code Geass website, code-geass.bandai-ent.com, will launch tomorrow.

Bandai also named the actors selected to perform in the dub of Lucky Star. Wendee Lee is set to be the American voice of Konata, and will be joined by Michelle Ruff as Tsukasa, Kari Wahlgren as Kagami, and Karen Strassman as Miyuki.

The panelists then screened trailers for Flag, Zegapain, the Gundam SEED Special and Lucky Star. The company had a fairly active licensing year, and continued the panel by running several more trailers for the anime it announced throughout the summer of 2007, including Ayakashi Ayashi, Toward the Terra, Galaxy Angel S and X, My Otome Zwei and the Silent Mobius movies.

The final trailer was for Bandai's one new acquisition of the convention. In 2008, it will be bringing out the award-winning film, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Prior to the DVD release, this movie, which has been honored at the Sitges and Annecy film festivals, will be screened theatrically in movie theaters in Los Angeles, New York, and, potentially, several other cities.
