Opening Ceremonies

After a late start, the New York Anime Festival opening ceremonies launched with an introduction from NYAF Programming Manager Peter Tatara. Tatara then introduced conventions guests: Jpop ambassador Takamasa Sakurai, Crypton Future Media founder and president Hiroyuki Itō, ASCII and Tokyo Kawaii magazine founder Toshihiro Fukuoka, and AnCafe bassist Kanon.

The group then cut a red ribbon signifying the opening of the event.
