NIS America Games

by Bamboo Dong,

Nippon Ichi and NIS America president Sohei Niikawa stopped by the panel on Saturday to thank fans for their continued support. He also shared his confidence that their games lineup was the strongest it had ever been, and urged fans to support their upcoming release of The Witch and the Hundred Knights, which spent three years in development.

Up next was a representative from Yummy Yummy Tummy, the developers for Character Chowdown, an educational puzzle game for iOS devices that aids students in learning new languages. The game features cameos from Nippon Ichi's Disgaea series.

Next up, panelists introduced some of NIS America's upcoming games, starting with Time and Eternity, a PS3-exclusive animated RPG that will be available in two weeks. Also introduced was Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, the Disgaea tenth anniversary project. The game will be released in the fall, but preorders are currently being accepted. Next, the panelists showed a trailer for Nippon Ichi's The Guided Fate Paradox, another PS3 exclusive that will also be available this fall. The same planning and development team that worked on Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Before the company announced their new acquisitions, they also showed a trailer for The Witch and the Hundred Knights. It is slated to be released in North America in early 2014.

The company also announced two new titles, starting with Danganropa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a murder mystery visual novel developed by Spike Chunsoft. It was originally released in Japan for the PSP, but was later ported to iOS and Android OS devices. An anime adaptation just started airing in Japan, and is being simulcast by Funimation. The Danganronpa game will be available from NIS American early 2014 for PS Vita. Their other new announcement is Kadokawa Game's Demon Gaze, also for PS Vita. That game will also be available in early 2014.
