Sakura-Con 2013
Crunchyroll Industry Panel

by Lynzee Loveridge,

Crunchyroll marketing manager Victoria Holden and brand manager Tiffany Chen presented the Crunchyroll panel on Saturday evening along with three of their ambassadors. The panel started with overview of devices that Crunchyroll apps are available on before breaking into two new simulcast announcements. Several series are continuing this season, including the upcoming Saki Episode of Side A episodes.

The first new announcement was for the slice-of-life comedy Aiura. The series will premiere Tuesday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The anime adaptation of Chama's Aiura four-panel manga centers around energetic but annoying Amaya (Nakajima), zero-motivation Iwasawa (Iida), and docile Uehara (Tamura) — three fairly normal high school girls and their classmates. Their daily life is "what happens when there is nothing happening."

The second announcement is for Mushibugyō, the eighth and last of the titles in the Sunday Anime Project announcements this year. Hiroshi Fukuda's original action manga is set in Edo-era Tokyo in the early 1700s. The eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune creates a new magistrate unit — Mushibugyō — to protect the people in the heart of the city. Each member is a specialist with unique fighting skills. The series will air on April 8 at 6:00 a.m. EDT.

They also reiterated the previous announcement that Bandai's Valvrave the Liberator is joining the line-up.

The panel then broke for Q&A and prizes.
