Dark Horse Comics

by Bamboo Dong,

Dark Horse Comics' Carl Horn opened the panel with new announcements, saying that the company would resume the release of Eiji Ohtsuka and Hosui Yamazaki's The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service. The first twelve books will be released as three-volume omnibuses, with cardboard covers meant to mimic the original Japanese releases' brown paper slipcovers; Dark Horse will resume the release of individual volumes starting with volume 14. The first omnibus is scheduled for an August 2015 release.

The company will also release the Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt manga by TAGRO, a one-volume manga based on the anime TV series by Gainax. It is scheduled for a May 2015 release.

Meanwhile, August 2015 will see the release of The Art of Satoshi Kon, a book that collects the many paintings, illustrations, and storyboards of the late Satoshi Kon, including artwork from unfinished projeccts. While the book will mostly feature artwork, there will also be some notes from the famed artist and director. It will be the same as the Kon's Work 1982-2010 book released in Japan last year.

Horn then summarized the company's upcoming release schedule, beginning with Dragon Girl and Monkey King: The Art of Katsuya Terada, which will be released July 23. The book contains a forward by director and producer Guillermo del Toro, who has worked extensively with Terada in the past, even asking him to illustrate the official Japanese movie poster for Pacific Rim. Terada will be at San Diego Comic Con later this month, signing copies of the book.

Other upcoming releases include the next volumes in several series, including Gantz, MPD-Psycho, Oh My Goddess! (which is celebrating its 20th anniversary), Samurai Executioner, the Trigun omnibus, Blood Blockade Battlefront, New Lone Wolf and Cub, Legal Drug, and others. Of special interest to Vocaloid fans is Hatsune Miku: Unofficial Hatsune Mix, an omnibus by original Hatsune Miku designer Kei. The manga is scheduled for an August 27 release.
