Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, Akiba's Trip Coming to PC This Spring

posted on by Karen Ressler

XSEED Games announced on Thursday that it will release Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim and Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed for PC via Steam this spring.

The PC edition of Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim will have a new translation, widescreen support, the ability to warp to and from checkpoints, and a new "Catastrophe Mode" where the player is unable to purchase healing items, and any healing items acquired are used automatically on pick-up.

The game was the first 3D entry in Nihon Falcom's Ys game series. Konami initially released the game in North America for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable.

XSEED Games released Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed (titled Akiba's Trip 2 in Japan) for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in August, and on PlayStation 4 in November. The PC version will have the PS4 version's a visual editor to change the game's graphics options.

XSEED describes the story:

AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed tells the story of a young man named Nanashi who was lured into a trap and transformed into one of the walking undead. Lucky enough to be spared the worst of his fate by the kiss of a mysterious Synthister hunter named Shizuku, Nanashi is sworn to rid Akihabara of the Synthister threat. Together with the rest of his companions in an organization unofficially dubbed the “Akiba Freedom Fighters,” Nanashi and Shizuku must uncover the truth behind the Synthister plague and save Akiba from being overrun by their kind.

NIS America released the game in Europe.
