Arnie Roth: Final Fantasy XII 'Remake' Comment Was Error in Use of Term

posted on by Egan Loo

Arnie Roth, the producer and music director of the "Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy" concert tour, posted a statement on Monday regarding his comment that there is a "Final Fantasy XII remake underway."

Dear friends,

In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert in Pittsburgh.

Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from FINAL FANTASY XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.

We sincerely regret any confusion this has caused.

Roth had made his comments during the concert tour's stop in Pittsburgh. Final Fantasy XII composer Hitoshi Sakimoto also appeared at the concert.

Square Enix released Final Fantasy XII for the PlayStation 2 in 2006 in Japan and North America, and in 2007 in Europe.
