Majestic Prince to Have Important Announcement in April

Franchise will have stage program in AnimeJapan 2016 with anime's cast

The April issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Hero's magazine revealed on Tuesday that Rando Ayamine and Hikaru Arashima's Majestic Prince manga will have an important announcement in the next magazine issue, which will ship on April 1.

Majestic Prince will also have a stage event at the AnimeJapan 2016 event on March 26. Shintarō Asanuma, Yuka Iguchi, Yōko Hikasa — all of whom are cast members from the Majestic Prince television anime — will be present during the stage event, and the event teases an announcement of a "new development."

The story follows humanity after it expanded its frontier into space in a quest for resources. Advances in genetic engineering research allow humans to adapt to the new frontier, leading to the advent of evolved children such as the protagonist Izuru. Izuru enrolls in an academy city called Gurantseere to fulfill his mission of "protecting humanity."

The franchise began as a multimedia project from Fields. Ayamine and Arashima launched the manga in Monthly Hero's in 2011, and Shogakukan published the manga's 10th compiled book volume last December. The television anime ran for 24 episodes in 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for digital and home video, and released it on DVD and Blu-ray in North America in 2014 with an English dub.

A separate but related manga series titled Ginga Kikōtai Majestic Prince by Fields and Yūsuke Ozaki launched in Kadokawa's Newtype Ace magazine in 2012, and ended in October 2013.
