SSSS.Gridman Anime Listed With 12 Episodes

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions' SSSS.Gridman anime series is listing four Blu-ray Disc and DVD volumes for the anime, with a total of 12 episodes. The volumes are slated for December 19, January 16, February 20, and March 20.

The anime premiered on October 6. Crunchyroll and Funimation are streaming the anime as it airs in Japan, and Funimation is also streaming an English dub for the anime.

Akira Amemiya (Inferno Cop, Ninja Slayer, earlier 2015 "Denkō Chōjin Gridman boy invent great hero" short) is directing this collaboration between the anime Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions — the creator of the Ultraman franchise and the original 1993-1994 live-action tokusatsu (special-effects) series Denkō Chōjin Gridman. In addition, Keiichi Hasegawa (Rage of Bahamut Genesis, 009-1: The End of the Beginning, Zoids) is writing the scripts, and Tsuburaya Productions' Masayuki Gotou (Baton, recent Ultraman franchise installments) is designing the Gridman. Shinji Nishikawa (Godzilla series), Hiroshi Maruyama (Ultraman series), and Ichirō Itano (Ultraman Nexus CG motion director) are the kaijū (monster) designers. Masaru Sakamoto is the character designer. Pony Canyon is producing the music.

Shiro Sagisu (Shin Godzilla, Evangelion) is composing the show's music, Toshiki Kameyama (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Hidamari Sketch) is the sound director, and Eiko Morikawa is returning from the original Denkō Chōjin Gridman live-action show to handle the sound effects.

OxT (Masayoshi Ōishi and Tom-H@ck) will perform the anime's opening theme song "UNION." Maaya Uchida will perform the anime's ending theme song "youthful beautiful."
