Trivia:

The whole movie is a goofy parody of Saint Seiya's Asgard Saga: Even a part when Ranma is captured and injured by one of the Kirin's henchman that use a Chinese guitar's cords as weapon is similar to a part when Andromeda Shun is attacked in a same way by Mime, one of the Asgard Saints and rescued in the last moment by Phoenix Ikki, his brother, with the difference that Ranma is rescued from a sure death from Shampoo, besides already of the already used cliche of Saori (in this case Akane) getting kidnapped and the Saints (in this case Ranma and co.) have to pass different temples (just like Saint Seiya) to be able to rescue the damsel in distress.

Among the characters that chased Ranma down the street are Ukyo, Tsubasa Kurenai, Azusa Shiratori, Mikado Sanzenin, Kodachi Kuno, Principal Kuno, Dojo Destroyer, Furinkan High Drama Club Director, Mr. Ryokou, Sentaro Daimonji, Sanae, Yotaro & his mom, female Shirokuro & her pups, Maomolin, the Niku Men, Harumaki, the Kimen School of Martial Arts Calligraphy Teacher, Hanako & her Brother, Dr. Tofu, Hikaru Gosunkugi, & the Gambling King.

There were two scenes that were written and storyboard but were excluded from the final film. The first deleted scene takes place during the failed rescue of Akane. This sequence depicts Kuno fighting Daihokusei and Daikokusei blindfolded. While the other deleted scene involves Ebitan after he was trampled over. Originally he was to get back up only to be beaten up severely by Ranma.

Lychee is named after the fruit of the same name, a similar naming convention that was used for the Chinese manga characters Plum and Lime.

The only Ranma movie to not feature any nudity.

This marks as the only anime appearance of female Shirokuro & Sanae the monkey who were omitted from the TV anime. Shirokuro would eventually make an appearance in the TV anime, but was changed to a male dog.

In the Japanese version, Akane asks Kirin if they have any pigs in a blanket, causing him to ask about them cooking pigs in bedding. In the English dub this is changed to fried eggs, causing Kirin to question her about eating bird embryos, which are obviously called baluts. Both the Japanese and English version mention hamburgers.

It was never explicitly shown what the yellow spinning projectile that was used to break Ebiten's fishing pole was, but given Ryoga's appearance shortly afterwards it was most likely one of his bandanas.
