Trivia:

In ep. 7 Megumi tries to hit Miki with a skewer and misses, producing an instant cut to her in a samurai uniform and a classically-attired young girl in a boat, pointing to a fan mounted on the prow of the boat and calling out 「外れ」 (Hazure, "miss"). This is a reference to a traditional song, Ogi no mato ("The Folding Fan as a Target"), a sort of Japanese equivalent to William Tell.
