Trivia:

In the opening sequence, the girls' dance number and the title screen itself are obviously mocking the ending sequence of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, another title animated by Kyoto Animation.

In the preview for Episode 2, Konata is shown reading a magazine at her desk. If you look at the back of the magazine, you can see a picture from Galaxy Angel II pictured on the back. Aya Hirano plays the characters of Kahlua/Tequila Majoram in this series, explaining the reference.

In the Lucky Channel segment of episode 1, the first letter, asking about how much idols make, is from a fan calling himself “Berryko Daisuki-kko” (or “Berryko Lover”). This is likely a reference to J-POP idol group Berryz Koubou.

When Kagami and Tsukasa imagine Konata working at a bookstore, the cut out in the background is Lisianthus from "Shuffle"

The image of Galaxy Angel II mentioned earlier also appears when Konata goes shopping with Kagami. The magazine even has tiny words saying "Playstation 2" referring to the game.

The 2nd ending song is referenced to a Tokusatsu series called Akumaizer 3. Zabitan, Iberu (Evil), and Gabura are the three heroes of the story. Jankeru (jankel) is a general term for sabre. Each hero has his own Jankeru; Zabitan has Zarado, Iberu has Erado, and Gabura has Garado.

The first ending song is referenced to a 1976 tokusatsu called Uchuu Tetsujin Kyodain (or Space Ironmen Kyodain). Skyzel and Granzel are the heroes of the story.

Episode 4 has at least two more anime references: It references Suzumiya Haruhi by Konata giving Kagami the "division chief" armband that Suzumiya Haruhi wore, and later on in the episode, Konata is watching Haruhi while commenting about it on 2ch. To Heart is also referenced because Konata gives Tsukasa the school uniform of the school Akari goes to.

Episode 4 also references Kanon, the second time when Konata is late to school, and explains the scene where Yuuichi first meets Ayu. The teacher's next line starts with "Uguu"

the ending theme for the 5th episode is "Chala, Head Chala" from DBZ

The song at the end of Episode 6 is indeed "Valentine Kiss" from Prince of Tennis, but it was originally by Kokusho Sayuri of the Onyanko Club, hence, why Konata yells out "SAYURI", and asks what number member she was, as Onyanko Club had many members in it (answer: 8)

At the end of Episode 9, during the preview of Episode 10, Konata is talking about the "infinite lives" trick in world 3-1 of Super Mario Bros, with the fact that if you get over 128, dying once will be game over.

The ending of episodes are song sfrom show performed by the voices of the main characters

Episode 1's ending "Uchū Tetsujin Kyodain" (宇宙鉄人キョーダイン, Space Ironmen Kyodain?) is performed by Konata(Aya Hirano)

In EP2, Konata is watching episode 9 of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" while trying to study. She even goes as far as complaining about how Kyoto Animation's (the outfit that animated Haruhi and Lucky Star) cut quite a few corners when it came to Yuki Nagato's scenes.

All four girls (Tsukasa, Konata, Kagami, and Miyuki) are left handed.

In fact, the tree store clerks in the Animate scene are the Seiyuus for Keroro, Tamama and Giroro from Keroro Gunsou. At last they even change their faces with the faces of those other characters. The blonde one says "de arimasu" sometimes.

There are three out of five seiyuus who are present in Keroro Gunsou as clerks at : Kumiko Watanabe (Keroro), Etsuko Kozakura (Tamama), and Jouji Nakata (Giroro).

Two Seiyuus of the antagonist of Naruto series (Kujira as Orochimaru) and Yakitate Japan (Fumihiko Tachiki as Yuuichi Kirisaki) has the huge number of roles on it.

In the Episode 17 ED sequence, while Shiraishi Minoru is singing and running behind a bus (??) the camera pans back and Kaori Fukuhara (Tsukasa's Seiyuu) and Hiromi Konno (Akira's Seiyuu) are talking to each other.

During the Lucky channel at the end of each episode, the assistant who co-hosts is named Minoru Shiraishi, and the actual voice actor is named Minoru Shiraishi. If his voice sounds familiar, that's because he also plays as Taniguchi in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

In the intro at 0:55, Konata strikes an Ultraman pose.

In the opening sequence, at 0:55 to 0:56, when Yutaka Kobayakawa (Konata's little brown-haired cousin) appears in the screen, Konata strikes a pose with her fingers which is a trademark of Rumiko Takahashi's works (Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha) when characters startle or get beaten-up in a funny way.

Episode 19 - In the above referred cosplay of Edward Elric, the boy dressed as Ed was talking to another boy in cosplay as a Federal Alchemist.

Episode 19 - Tamura explains to Kobayakawa that she used an anime's character name "Suzaku" (which Suzaku from many references in animes is not clear) so whe she looks at the screen of a neighbor bowling lane the written names are: Haruhi, Kyon, (Nagato) Yuki, Mikuru and (Koizumi) Itsuki - all characters from "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu" and then she thinks that there are many people like her - "doko ni mo irun'desu ne Nakama-tte yatsu"

At the end of episode 20, Akira calling Daisuke a crow and Daisuke calling Akira a dog is a reference to Air(TV) in that Daisuke Ono is the seiyuu of Yukito and that Hiromi Konno, the seiyuu of Akira, is also the seiyuu of Potato.

At the end of the Lucky Channel segment of ep. 20, Akira says "Piko Piko" which is a reference to Potato, the dog in Air (TV), a character voiced by the same seiyuu.

At the end of Episode 21, durring the previews for the next episode, there is a direct reference to Air (TV) when the animes talk (particularly the dog that says "picco" and the bird).

The song Yuuchou Sentai Dajare Ranger as mentioned above is a song from the CD Kosutte! Oh My Honey sang by Hirano Aya & Sasaki Nozomi the seiyus for Konata and Patricia

The ending theme for the final episode (24) is 'Ai wa Boomerang', the ending title theme for Urusei Yatsura Movie 2- Beautiful Dreamer.

The ending sequence of episode 23 depicts a lightsaber battle a la Star Wars films.

In episode Three of Lucky Star, Konata gets an invitation card to her cousin Yui's wedding, who as written on the card, is marrying Narumi Kiyotaka, a character fron the detective anime series, Spiral. Coincidentally, Yui is also a police officer, similar to Kiyotaka's wife in the series.

During the Drill scene, there is a Gunbuster parody

During the Lucky Channel segment of episode 15, Minoru says "magare" ("get bent") after making the announcement about Akira's live concert. "Magare" is the catch phrase of Koizumi Itsuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.

During the Gundam segment of episode 19, the three characters mentioned by name are Amuro Ray, Bright Noa, and Haman Karn. All three are key characters in the Universal Century (UC) timeline of the Gundam meta-universe.

In the Lucky Channel portion of episode 21, Ono Daisuke announces the title of the special segment: "Konshuu no Magare" ("This Week's Get Bent"). "Magare" is the catch phrase of Koizumi Itsuki, whom Ono Daisuke voices in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.

At the end of the Lucky Channel segment of episode 12, Minoru says "kasei ni kawatte, osekkyou yo!" ("In the name of Mars, I'll preach at you!") This is an obvious parody of Sailor Mars's catch phrase ("kasei ni kawatte, sekkan yo!") from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon.

The picture that shows on the beginning of each episode is a pun to the 世界名作劇場 (World Masterpiece Theater). Especially to Akage no Anne (Anne of Green gables).

In the ending karaoke sequence of the episode 6, Konata says she would like Miyuki to sing “Omoide ga ippai” : it is the 3rd opening theme of the “Ranma ½” series.

In the episode 6, the scene after Yui's chase on the yellow Mazda RX-7 shows Konata talking about not being car sick due to Nanako's excellent driving. This is a parody of Initial D, where Natsuki (Takumi's girlfriend) also praises Takumi's driving when she doesn't get car sick, during a trip to the beach. Konata and friends are also bound for the beach in this episode.

The Hiiragi family have been registered as official residents of Washimiya because of the anime's wild popularity.

Some time during episode 18, when Konata, Tsukasa, and Kagami are walking home in the rain, two characters named Ichiko and Suzume run past them. These are the friends of the main character of Kyoto Animation's original OVA series called Munto. A TV series has been made in 2009. You can tell by the school uniform that Ichiko is wearing.

In episode Konata turns on the television, saying 'Isn't Haruhi about to start?' However, the ending theme, 'Hare Hare Yukai' plays instead of the opening.

Episode 7 when Konata says "in mangas and animes when the character takes of their glasses they become popular but it doesn't apply in real life" , shes referring to Ichigo 100% when Aya Toujo removed her glasses she became pretty and popular.

in the earlier episodes of lucky star, minoru shiraishi was always called "sebastian" by kona-chan (and also by kuroi-sensei). sebastian (sebastian michaels) is the main character from kuroshitsuji (black butler).

In the OVA , Konata wears a Yuki-like costume (from The Melancoly of Haruhi Suzumiya) and waves a magic wand to force Kagami into assorted cosplays, including Miku Hatsune and 2 to 3 other characters (whom I am not able to name)

In the ending of the sixth episode, while Tsukasa Hiiragi is singing "Valentine Kiss", Konata yells "L-O-V-E Lovely Tsukasa". She may be referring to the third OAV of the "Ichigo 100%" series; in this episode, Junpei (the male protagonist) needs to find how to pretend to be member of Tsukasa Nishino's fan club. When he is about to be in trouble, he escapes those troubles while singing "L-O-V-E Lovely Tsukasa".

In episode 1, there is an obvious Street Fighter 2 game reference with Konata beating up Guile in the Japan stage.

The "Lucky Channel" segment in Episode 1 is similar to Happy Seven's "Happy Station," where the hosts read mail from fans.

As seen in episode 1 (around 10:01), name of optometry Miyuki goes to is the same as Lucky Star's creator'ｓ - Yoshimizu.

In Episode 2, when they are playing Taiko Master, they are playing "Hare Hare Yukai" from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

It may be referencing the boy band KAT-TUN, and the guy in the back of the picture on the far right even looks a bit like one of the band's members, Taguchi Junnosuke.

In Episode 3, when they talk about anime series with the school teacher being the same age as the students, they are referring to Pani Poni Dash (also, they parody a scene right after).

The ending song in episode 3 is "Sore ga, Ai deshou (Could This Be Love?)" from Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, which was also done by Kyoto Animation.

In episode 3, the twins "ManaKana", referred to by Kona-chan, are Mikura Mana and Mikura Kana, who also performed theme songs for the anime Chibi Maruko-chan.

In Episode 3, when Konata was talking about how idiots and geniuses are often seen going to the same school in anime, there was a short clip afterwards where characters resembling Takashi Kamiyama and Shinjiro Hayashida from Cromartie High School were talking with each other. Konata is also seen reading a volume of the Cromartie High School manga prior to her statement.

In episode 3, when Konata Izumi and her friends are talking about wedding, Izumi mentioned the names Angel Salvia and Daisy. These two characters are from Wedding Peach.

In episode 3 when Konota asks about choosing a rich person or a childhood friend to get married to, she is referencing a choice the player has to make in the game Dragon Quest V. The childhood friend, Bianca, is even named by Kagami.

In Episode 6, Tsukasa hums the Lucky Star opening song while in the bath

The difference is that Yui is driving a Subaru Vivio RX-R instead of an 86 (The VIvio is a reference to Bunta Fujiwara's Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type R). ALso, the music used during that segment sounds quite similar to "Noisy Tribe" by m.o.v.e., the J-Rock group that provides the theme songs for initial D.

In episode 6 (7:33), Nanako's movement and emotions after having a drink seem to imitate of Katsuragi Misato from "Neon Genesis Evangelion", whenever Misato's drinks her beer at home.

In Episode 7, there is a scene of a cicada's corpse that is ripped apart, just like the ending animation of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni

This is a reference to a famous quote by Mobile Suit Gundam's Char Aznable who say's "One Does Not Care To Acknowledge The Mistakes of One's Youth" as a piece of advice.

In Episode 8 when kagami was just about to start the bread eating contest, Konata said " Girls must be elegant" this could possibly be a reference to Lumiere of Kiddygrade who aya hirano also voiced. , and Lumiere always told Eclair that "ladies must always be elegant".

In episode 8, the 'main' cover in the Newtype magazine are characters from Heroic Age while the one in the corner is CC from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

In Episode 10, Konata's father makes references to different aspects of hentai/gal games, such as shrine maidens ("miko"), eating a meal with three different girls at once (such as Shuffle! and other games), and even a slight reference to lolicon (his wife is tremendously young).

In Episode 10, there is a fox plushie on Konata's bed, which looks like Makoto in her fox form in Kanon, which Kyoto Animation also did.

In episode 10 when Konata, her dad, Tsukasa Kagami are eating, Konata's father jumps up and mumbles in the background "Sakura, Tohsaka you're older sister!" This is a reference to two very popular characters (Sakura Matou and Rin Tohsaka) from the H-game/anime Fate/Stay Night Also note that Kagami and Tsukasa's personalities match the two characters (Rin's tomboyish attitude = Kagami's and Sakura's reserved bright personality= Tsukasa's) hence the reason why Konata's dad makes that reference to the two girls.

In Episode 10's Lucky Channel.. When Minoru Shiraishi was explaining things about a tsundere, his hand gestures is obviously a reference to Itsuki Koizumi's hand gestures when he was talking to Nagato Yuki in The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru (SHnY ep 1)
