All-new, "return to the starting point" Shōjo Fujūbun to be illustrated by Foo Midori

The Japanese publisher Kodansha announced on Tuesday that author NisiOisin (Bakemonogatari, Medaka Box) will publish his new work, titled Shōjo Fujūbun (Girls' Inadequacy), on September 8. Foo Midori (Rinkan no Madōshi illustrator) will illustrate the novel.

The story Shōjo Fujūbun is separate from NisiOisin's Monogatari series of novels. According to Kodansha, the story will represent NisiOisin's "return to the starting point in a new frame of mind." NisiOisin's Onimonogatari novel will also be released in September. NisiOisin's Otorimonogatari novel (pictured at right) was released on June 29.

NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari and Katanagatari light novels both received television anime adaptations. NisiOisin's Kizumonogatari light novel will receive a theatrical film adaptation.

NIS America (NISA) is releasing the Katanagatari television anime in America. Viz Media published NisiOisin's Death Note novel spinoff in English in 2008, and Del Rey published NisiOisin's xxxHOLiC short stories, as well as the first two volumes of his Zaregoto light novel series.
