Nitro+'s Madoka Magica Portable PSP Game Promo Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
Anime's writer Urobuchi, studio Shaft involved in adventure/dungeon RPG

The official website for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Portable adventure/dungeon role-playing game is now streaming a promotional video. The game will ship for the PSP platform in Japan on March 15, 2012.

The game's original story will have multiple endings, as well as cut scenes from the anime and original illustrations. Those scenes will feature the full transformation sequences of the magical girls, including the first release of Madoka Kaname's sequence and Homura's transformation with glasses. The in-game conversations will be fully voiced by the original anime cast.

Yusuke Tomizawa (God Eater) and Yoshinao Doi (Steins;Gate, Madoka Magica) are producing the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Portable game, and the anime's head writer Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero) is collaborating on the project's planning and supervising the scenario. The studio Shaft (Bakemonogatari) is producing the animation just as it did for the original Madoka Magica anime. The creative team Gekidan Inu Curry also returns to collaborate on the designs. Bandai Namco Games is the publisher.

The regular edition will cost 6,480 yen (about US$84), while the limited-pressing pre-order edition will cost 11,990 yen (US$155). The "Limited Contract Box" will contain a figma figure of Madoka Kaname in her school uniform, a Blu-ray Disc with "special footage," a Kyubey-shaped pouch, a Homu-Homu handkerchief, a special clear card, a Shaft-illustrated box, and the game UMD itself with an exclusive picture label. People who pre-order the game will receive a clip of actual film from the new transformation sequences, as well as a serial code fo a custom PSP theme.
