Type-Moon Café for Carnival Phantasm opens August 23; Yuruyuri café open until August 28

The Good Smile Café, the restaurant run by the figure maker Good Smile Company east of Tokyo, revealed on Wednesday it will revamp itself into a "Type-Moon Café for Carnival Phantasm" from August 23 to September 25. The café will feature an original menu, drinks, and limited-edition merchandise. Good Smile Company will post more detailed information on the café's official website in the coming days.

Good Smile Café had revamped itself into a Puella Magi Madoka Magica Café from May 3 to August 14.

The Carnival Phantasm anime project adapts an anthology of Type-Moon manga short stories by Kannagi creator Eri Takenashi to celebrate Type-Moon's 10th anniversary. Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!, My Bride is a Mermaid) is directing this anime at Lerche with scripts by Makoto Uezu (Is This a Zombie?, My Bride is a Mermaid, Tayutama - Kiss on My Deity-).

The Blu-ray Disc of the "1st Season" shipped in Japan on August 14.

The Cure Maid Café in Tokyo's Akihabara otaku shopping district is hosting a special "Yuruyuri Café" event from August 18 to August 28. The café features drinks inspired by the four main characters of Yuruyuri, along with dishes such as "Yui's homemade bread roll sandwich" and "Nana Mori Junior High School Lunch" (pictured below).

When guests order from the special Yuruyuri menu, they receive a coaster featuring the four members of the "Gorakubu" (amusement club). Guests who bring the CD featuring the show's opening and ending theme songs with them can order a special Yuruyuri-themed pancake dish. The café is also playing a mini Yuruyuri drama featuring the four main cast members in the background while guests eat.

Cure Maid Café has hosted events for both Neon Genesis Evangelion and Sakura Wars in the past.

The television anime adaptation of Namori's Yuruyuri manga began airing on TV Tokyo on July 4. Masahiko Ohta (Minami-ke, Mitsudomoe) is directing the series, which is animated by Dogakobo. In the story, four fun-loving schoolgirls take over the former room of a tea ceremony club for their own "Gorakubu" (amusement club). Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series outside of Japan.
