Dragon Quest I/II/III's Wii Port Promo Video Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
New opening anime by Kamikaze Douga highlighted for September 15 collection

The game publisher Square Enix began streaming the store promotional video for the Nintendo Wii port of its Dragon Quest I/II/III role-playing games. (Square Enix disabled embedding for this video.) The video highlights the new opening animation sequence that Kamikaze Douga (Dragon Quest: Shōnen Yangus to Fushigi no Dungeon, Dragon Quest IX, Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road Victory) created for the 25th anniversary collection. The collection will include both the Famicom (Nintendo) and Super Famicom (Super Nintendo) versions of Dragon Quest I, Dragon Quest II, and Dragon Quest III on one disc on September 15.

The collection will allow players to pause and save at any time, and not just at predesignated save points. The collection will also include three sets of bonus extras right on the game disc. The first will be Kamikaze Douga's new opening anime. The second will be a "treasure chest" of selected production and developmental design materials. The final bonus extra will be a video of footage from the upcoming Dragon Quest X game.

The game will come with a reprint of Famicom Shinken Ōgi Daizensho, a game guide book edited from the "Famicom Shinken" articles that first ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine 25 years ago. The first pressing will also come with a life-size medal.
