Users can demo Live2D character animation system, run Twitter, gets game news

Bandai Namco Games launched the free Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai iP iOS app on Monday to promote its upcoming Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable game for the PSP. The app demonstrates the Live2D system used in the PSP game to animate the characters from Yomi Hirasaka's Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai) romantic comedy light novels and the television anime that they inspired.

With the app, players can interact with the story's female lead, Yozora Mikazuki, by "tapping" her onscreen appearance for a reaction, or by "pinching" her to shrink or expand the view.

The app also includes standard features, like a schedule, alarm, clock, and Twitter. The official timeline feature gives the latest updates from the game's Twitter account, while the information link sends users to the game's website.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable will ship in Japan on January 26, 2012. The Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai iP apps runs on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and it requires a Japanese iTunes Store account.

Late last month, Funimation and Niconico began streaming Haganai in North America as the anime airs in Japan.
