Manga creator Takeshi Konomi to appear on imagine-nation on November 15

The next episode of imagine-nation, an English-language program shown on the international broadcast service NHK World TV, will feature The Prince of Tennis manga, the anime that it inspired, and its creator Takeshi Konomi. The episode will premiere on Tuesday November 15 at 6:30 p.m. EST and repeat five times over the following day.

The imagine-nation program covers comics, anime, and games with features such as interviews and top rankings. NHK lists the available ways that viewers outside Japan can watch NHK World, and NHK's own website streams NHK World.

The next episode will interview Konomi in his studio. NHK notes that The Prince of Tennis anime celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a film and a new television anime series next January. NHK promises that the imagine-nation episode will have "the very latest information" on the new anime series. The manga itself has sold 50 miillion copies and inspired novels, radio plays, a live-action film, a perennial series of stage musicals, and a live-action Chinese series.

The next imagine-nation installment will also interview animation director Usagi Tanaka ("Mustafrog and Ninja Bunny" and "Scary Squirrel"). In July, the program ran an interview with director Makoto Shinkai (Voices of a Distant Star, Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below).
