Cards for teaching Japanese syllabary to feature Choo's mascot characters

On Thursday, Tokyo-based blogger and television series producer Danny Choo announced that his Culture Japan brand will be collaborating with Japanese hobby manufacturer Good Smile Company in order to create Moekana, a set of flash cards aimed at individuals who are trying to learn the Japanese hiragana syllabary. The cards will feature illustrations of Choo's Mirai Suenaga, Haruka Suenaga and Kanata Hoshikawa mascot characters by artist Ikkyuu. The set will ship in April for 1,500 Yen (about US$18).

Choo first became well known for cosplaying in Tokyo as an Imperial Stormtrooper from the Star Wars films, and he later attended Anime Expo 2011 as a guest of honor. Choo was also profiled on CNN in 2008, and is the creator and host of the Culture Japan variety show.
