Ad for Kirin Soft Drink to Star Tsubasa from Captain Tsubasa

Soccer manga's protagonist teams with real-life Japanese soccer captain in carbonated beverage ad
Tsubasa Oozora, the protagonist of Yōichi Takahashi's Captain Tsubasa soccer manga, will be appearing in an upcoming ad for beverage maker Kirin's "Otona no Kirin Lemon" ("Kirin Lemon for Adults") soft drink alongside Makoto Hasebe, the captain of Japan's national soccer team. The ad will begin airing on April 10.
The Tuesday press release that announced this campaign also states that Takahashi, who is 28 years old, looked up to Tsubasa, the protagonist of the manga that began in 1981, as a child.
"Otona no Kirin Lemon," the beverage that is promoted in the ads, was first released in 2010. It is a lemon-flavored low-calorie carbonated beverage with added vitamins and amino acids.
