Free-to-play game lets players interact with mascot characters

The game developer Square Enix launched the website for Slime no Oheya (Slime's Room), a free-to-play browser game where players build relationships with slimes from the Dragon Quest RPG series, on Wednesday.

In the game, players build relationships with their slimes by poking them, eventually teaching their slimes how to do tricks, such as spinning jumps, casting spells, and napping. Players are also given rooms that they can customize with items. Slimes of users who register for the game before the end of the month will be given the special "sakura storm" trick.

According to an article on the game, there are plans to make it so that players of the browser game will receive a special "Metal King" slime in the upcoming Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland Nintendo 3DS game.
