posted on by Andrew Osmond
Tetsuo director's appearances at London and Edinburgh cancelled due to family issues.

According to a message on the facebook page of Third Window, Tetsuo director Shinya Tsukamoto's visit to the U.K., and his appearances at the East End Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival, have been cancelled due to "tragic family issues."

Three films by Tsukamoto will be shown at the East End Film Festival. There will be a double bill of his live-action films Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) and Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1992), starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday July 4. The screening will take place at the Hackney Picturehouse.

Tsukamoto's new film Kotoko will be screened at 8.30 p.m on the following day, Thursday July 5. This screening will be at the Rich Mix Cinema in Bethnal Green.

The films will also be shown at the Edinburgh film festival. Kotoko will be shown at 6.40 p.m. on June 25, and again at 10 p.m. on June 26. Both Tetsuo films will be shown on June 27, starting at 8.40 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. respectively. For details, click on the film titles from here.

Third Window Films has already announced that it will release Tetsuo 1 & 2 as a U.K. Blu-ray double-pack in October 2012. The Tetsuo set will coincide with the DVD/Blu-ray release of Kotoko, which is also scheduled for October 2012.
