posted on by Ko Ransom
November 2011 concert to be 1st ever sold via 500GB iVDR cassette

A recording of singer Halko Momoi's November 11, 2011 concert at Kawasaki's Club Citta' will be released in mid-July on a 500-gigabyte iVDR cassette. In addition to the 2-hour, 43-minute concert, the hard disk cassette will contain footage of the singer at events such as a comic store opening and presentations at events. It will be the first concert video sold commercially via the iVDR format.

The cassette will be sold on the "ioPLAZA" online store for 12,800 yen (about US$160), as well as in a bundle with an iVDR player for 17,800 yen (about US$225). It will also come in a special vanity case, and will include stickers and a flyer. 50 cassettes will have a randomly distributed flyer signed by Momoi.

No plans exist at this time to sell the concert video in other formats such as Blu-ray Disc or DVD.
