Golgo 13 Reveals Road to Professional Success in Book

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Assassin character's techniques provide keys to succeed in business

Novelist and gekiga creator Kowa Kaburaya reveals the keys to professional success in the book 99% Shippai Shinai Golgo 13-Ryū Professional no Ryūgi (Succeed 99% of the time! Professional Golgo 13 Style), which shipped in Japan on October 22. The book promotes the professional techniques of the title assassin in Takao Saitō's long-running action manga Golgo 13.

Because the character Golgo 13's rate of failure is only 0.27%, the guide names him as the world's most successful man at performing his job. The book claims that all businesspersons can utilize the character's skills and techniques to succeed in their careers. The guide also showcases the sniper's ability to deal with extreme circumstances as well as his self-management and problem-solving abilities.

Kaburaya is a Golgo 13 researcher, and he has already worked on television, web, and other published projects related to the manga.

The manga launched in November 1968 in the January 1969 issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine, and it is the longest-running manga still being serialized The series centers around the unrivaled assassin-for-hire Duke Togo and his exploits around the world. Golgo 13 has sold more than 200 million copies, and the series' 166th volume shipped in Japan on September 5.

The manga has inspired two live-action films, an anime film, a video anime project, and a television anime series. The production company Davis Film also announced last September that it acquired new film adaptation rights from Japan's LEED Publishing Co., Ltd.

Viz Media has published 13 volumes of the manga in North America, and JManga is currently publishing the manga in English. Sentai Filmworks released the television anime series.
