Sony Worldwide Studios Head: Friend Me on Wii U Network

Follow "ShuYoshida" & play along with Shūhei Yoshida on Nintendo's latest console

Shūhei Yoshida, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment's Worldwide Studios, tweeted that he bought the North American release of the Wii U and invited players to friend him on the network: "Got a Wii U (US version), my Nintendo ID is 'ShuYoshida', pls send me a friend request so I see you on the Activity Feed." While he quickly hit his account's limit for friends, other people can still follow him.

When asked why he did not wait for the Japanese release due to region-locking, Yoshida replied, "I usually buy both the US and J versions of any consoles. At least 2 units each :p"

Yoshida also said that neither the Wii U or PlayStation Vita is the better option, as he "would not compare apples and oranges."

Worldwide Studios is an umbrella company that manages all of Sony's exclusively owned video game development studios. The first-party developers include Guerilla Games (Killzone), Media Molecule (Little Big Planet), Team Ico (Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian), Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo series), SCE Japan Studio (Ape Escape, LocoRoco, White Knight Chronicles, Soul Sacrifice) and Naughty Dog (Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Uncharted).

Nintendo's Wii U, launched in North America on November 18 and in the United Kingdom on November 30. It will hit store shelves in Japan on Saturday.
