Sengoku Basara 4 PS3 Game Announced for 2014

CAPCOM announced at the "Sengoku Basara: Basara Matsuri 2013 ~Haru no Jin~" event in Tokyo on Saturday that it will release the Sengoku Basara 4 game for the PlayStation 3 in the beginning of 2014. The game's official website will launch on April 1. The video shown at the event featured the keywords "Sengoku creation" and "Rushing into a new chapter."

The event also confirmed that ASCII Media Works' Sengoku Basara Magazine will debut on April 27. The magazine will feature the series' latest news, detailed individual features on the franchise's military commanders, comics, illustrations, and other content. The magazine will also bundle bonuses like CDs and straps.

Additionally, CAPCOM will release two Sengoku Basara Eastern Army Best and Sengoku Basara Western Army Best soundtracks on April 24.

Saturday's event also revealed some of the cast in costume for the first stage musical adaptation from the famous all-female Takarazuka Revue Company. Kei Suzuki (Ace Attorney musicals) is both writing and directing the musical, which will run at the Tōkyū Theatre Orb from June 15 to July 1. The musical will be titled "Sengoku Basara -Sanada Yukimura Volume-"

CAPCOM's Sengoku Basara games have sold 3.2 million copies since 2005. They inspired the Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings 2, and Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings: The Movie anime adaptations. A live-action series starring GACKT premiered in July, and spawned two compilation films in December.
