A.T's "Silicon;BootDrive" is set 5 years after "God's Needle" meteor transforms humanity

The ph9 website of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and 009 Re:Cyborg director Kenji Kamiyama began streaming the live-action independent short film "Silicon;BootDrive" on Saturday. Kamiyama contributed to the story which was written and directed by A.T. The two previously collaborated on the opening of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and the live-action preview for 009 Re:Cyborg.

The story takes place in 2020, five years after a meteor known as "God's Needle" landed off the coast of California. The meteor brought with it an infectious virus that began changing the human race into its next form of evolution.

Kamiyama's 009 Re:Cyborg film was released simultaneously in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea on October 27. The United Kingdom anime distributor Anime Limited film screened in London on April 4 and Australian anime distributor Madman Entertainment will screen the film in theaters in Australia and New Zealand as part of its Reel Anime 2013 lineup in September and October.
