Center idol for new μ's song was elected with votes from fans; top 3 idols to appear on CD cover

The official website for the Love Live! School idol project anime announced the final results of the 6th single center election to decide which fictional idol would take the center position for the μ's idol group's sixth single CD. The sixth CD is officially labeled as the first release in the "NEXT PROJECT" line of CDs.

Rank Character
1st place Maki Nishikino
2nd place Eli Ayase
3rd place Honoka Kōsaka

All 3 idols kept their same rankings from the semi-final round. Maki Nishikino (voiced by Pile) will appear in the CD's attached original anime music video, along with the other 8 members of μ's. The top 3 contenders will appear together on the cover of the CD.

The staff only announced the top 3 contenders on Monday, and later announced the other results in the July issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's Magazine on Wednesday:

  • 4th place - Rin Hoshizora
  • 5th place - Nico Yazawa
  • 6th place - Hanayo Koizumi
  • 7th place - Umi Sonoda
  • 8th place - Nozomi Tōjō
  • 9th place - Kotori Minami

In 2010, the anime studio Sunrise, Lantis, and ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G Magazine launched Love Live! as a self-described "ultimate user-participation project" which lets its fans vote on the future of the fictional idols. A series of music CDs and animated music videos then followed. The members of the project announced last February that an full anime series had been green-lit for 2013.

The Love Live! School idol project television anime premiered in Japan in January. The media service Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. NIS America has licensed the series for North American release.
