Team melee game to get PS3, Xbox 360 retail release, digital release for PS Vita in N. America

After Namco Bandai Games Europe announced on Friday that the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z video game would be heading to Europe for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360, Namco Bandai Games America confirmed with video game website Gematsu that the game will also be heading to North America, Latin America, and Brazil. Namco Bandai Games America added that for its release, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will get a retail release, and the PS Vita version will be digital only.

In the game, up to four players can play cooperatively, or eight players can engage in a massive battle royale. The game will feature four different battle types, and a full-featured solo play. The game has online multiplayer support, and players can work together on attacks such as "Synchro Rush" or boosting each other's health via "Revive Soul."

The game will feature Super Saiyan God, the new form that appeared in this year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods film.

Namco Bandai Games is hosting a "Bandai Namco Games Presents: DBZ" panel on July 7 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
