Google Celebrates April 1 With Pokemon Challenge

posted on by Bamboo Dong

It may still be March stateside, but in Japan, it's already April 1, and that means that plenty of companies have started having some fun (we'll have a long list posted tomorrow with some of our favorite April Fool's Day highlights!). Amongst those is Google, who's giving mobile users the chance to live out their dreams of becoming the world's best Pokemaster.

Anyone using the Google Maps app for iOS or Android will have the chance to collect 150 Pokémon. All you have to do is hit the "Start" button, pictured next to a Pokeball logo. From there, it will take you to the Googleplex headquarters in Mountain View, CA, where a few stray Pokémon are already lurking about.

There are 150 available in total, with locations as diverse as CERN's main campus, the Eiffel Tower, and Mount Kilimanjaro.

For those without the time to look for all 150, or who are stuck, someone has compiled a Google Docs spreadsheet with all of the locations.
