Fans Debate Over Omitted Scene from Recent JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

The anime adaptation of the wildly-popular JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Egypt Arc recently saw the full-blown return of one of Japanese fiction's most infamous characters, DIO, brandishing his trademark evil personality and terrifying Stand powers. While this final chapter of the world-renowned third part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has been highly anticipated, some fans have chimed in on the omission of a certain scene from the manga.

NOTE: SPOILERS BELOW!

In the original manga, DIO demands that a senator take the wheel of a car and give chase to two of the Crusaders also traveling by car. Upon hitting traffic, DIO tells the senator to begin driving on the pedestrian-riddled sidewalk instead of the road. The senator, going insane from fear at this point, does as he's told and overtakes the sidewalk, violently mowing down several civilians in the process. This gruesome scene was partially cut from the most recent episode of the ongoing anime series. Though the senator is still told to drive on the sidewalk, the actual driving is not seen. It is only implied a few moments later when the car's bloody and battered hood is made visible.

Fans of the JoJo franchise have been divisive over this deletion of the scene. Some people didn't mind and were still invested in the episode, saying "it was still interesting to watch." Others were disappointed that it wasn't there, with one fan complaining that they "really wanted to see it too." There are even those that are hopeful that the scene will be included in the eventual DVD release of this episode, where the more mature parts will likely be uncensored.

The scene was included in the 1993 OVA adaptation, which presented an abridged version of the Stardust Crusaders arc.
