Finder Manga Creator Yamane Contributes to Animate Stores' 30th Anniversary Project

Japan's Animate retail chain is celebrating the 30th anniversary since its founding in 1987, and the otaku stores launched a project for the occasion. Animate is teaming up with publishers and famous manga creators for the collaborative project. Animate announced on Monday that boys-love manga creator Ayano Yamane (Finder, A Foreign Love Affair, Crimson Spell) is participating in the Anime Tenchō (Anime Shop Manager) tribute series part of the project.
Yamane's part of the project (seen below) will premiere in Animate's free magazine Charaby on March 20. The magazine's July 5 issue will feature an explanation of the tribute series and message from Yamane. The magazine debuted in the anime, manga, game, and character goods stores in July.
The tribute series has Captain Animate Want You!! as its official, quasi-translated title. And as one might imagine, the series' story centers on the its eponymous Animate PR character. Manga creator Kazuhiko Shimamoto (Hero Company, Honō no Tenkōsei) created the character in 2000, and the flaming apron-wearing shop manager has already appeared in Charaby. However, this anniversary project marks the first time the character will receive his own series. The Anime Tenchō project inspired an original video anime (OVA) in 2002 and another OVA by ufotable for the mascot character's 10th anniversary in 2010.
Publishers including Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha, and Libra are collaborating with Animate for the tribute series. Manga creators Tarō Minoboshi (LovePlus character designer, Seifuku Robinson), Kōji Kumeta (Kakushigoto, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Joshiraku), Eri Kagami (Seibutsu Suisei WoO, Sore wa Iromeku Fukyō Waon), Masayuki Fujihara (Chōkijin Ryūko-Ō Denki, Giant Robo Tanjō-hen), and Katsutoshi Murase (Dois Sol, K.O.SEN) are also participating in the project.
Although Yamane's contribution will debut in March, Minoboshi's manga already appeared in the magazine on August 5. Fujihara's manga will debut on February 5, and Kagami's manga will debut on February 20.
The latest chapter of Yamane's Finder manga will debut in the February 2017 issue of Libre's Be-Boy Gold magazine on December 28. Her Shōsetsu Finder no Sōen novel will ship in Japan on January 19.
If Yamane's previous works are any indication, the latest installment of the Anime Tenchō project will feature a passionate, action-packed story.
