Moyoco Anno Joins Evangelion Theme Singer, Composer on New Single

The more the merrier seems to the approach for "Cruel Angel's Thesis" singer Yoko Takahashi and Evangelion composer Shiro Sagisu's new collaborative single. Accomplished manga artist Moyoco Anno, the wife of Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno, has joined in to provide the jacket art for the now titled "Welcome to the stage!" single.
The CD includes the track "TENSIONS - welcome to the stage," a rearrangement of the Evangelion's "EM20" track with vocals added. A total of four songs are included on the CD, including "Requiem" from Shin Godzilla. The new single that will be released in Japan on March 22, the same day as the Shin Godzilla Blu-ray and DVD home video.
Takahashi is also releasing her best-of album celebrating her 25 year career in music on March 22. Both Takahashi and Sagisu will appear at the upcoming "Shin Godzilla vs. Evangelion Symphony" performances in March. Disk Union recently published a collection of Sagisu's writings with cover art by Moyoco Anno.
The Godzilla vs Evangelion mash-up has included crossover figures, merchandise, artwork, and more all stemming from an April Fool's joke.
