Man with a Mission's Music Video Shows Off Inuyashiki's Action

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The wolf-mask wearing band MAN WITH A MISSION performed the opening theme song "My Hero" for this season's Inuyashiki sci-fi action anime series by MAPPA. In the music video for the song, footage of the band is interspersed with scenes from the television anime. No word if the band choice was at all influenced by the title of the anime series, but we'd like to think so.

MAN WITH A MISSION previously performed themes for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, The Seven Deadly Sins, and both seasons of the Log Horizon anime series. They also contributed songs for the Crows Explode, HK/Hentai Kamen, and Judge live-action films.

Amazon Prime Video's Anime Strike service is streaming Inuyashiki in the U.S. as it airs in Japan. The story follows the Ichiro Inuyashiki who is down on his luck. While only 58 years old, his geriatric looks often have him written off as a pathetic old man by the world around him and he's constantly ignored and disrespected by his family despite all that he's done to support them. On top of everything else, his doctor has revealed that he has cancer and it appears that he has little time left in this world. But just when it seems things couldn't get any worse, a blinding light in the night sky strikes the earth where Ichiro stands.

The manga is the work of GANTZ creator Hiroya Oku. Kodansha Comics is releasing the manga in North America.
