Attack on Titan High School Alternate Universe Manga Gets Drama CD

The ultra-popular Attack on Titan anime series has inspired its fair share of spinoffs, whether it's throwing its cast into a junior high school, taking a look back at Levi's upbringing, or delving into Mikasa and Annie's perspectives inside the walls. One of the series' side manga is published alongside the main story. Shingeki no School Caste is a high school alternate universe story published at the end of each Attack on Titan volume. Each story is only a few pages and serves as a "fake preview" for the manga's next volume, although it does contain its own sort of storyline.
The Shingeki no School Caste side story garnered attention this week when promotional art for its upcoming drama CD appeared on the cover of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. The characters' poses are a direct reference to the film poster for John Hughes's 1980s classic The Breakfast Club.
Attack on Titan cover artwork has referenced popular culture before, including the "We Came by Bike" and "Reaction Guys" memes.
The Attack on Titan anime cast are reprising their roles in the Shingeki no School Caste drama CD. The CD will be bundled with the first volume of the Attack on Titan season three home video release on October 17. Hajime Isayama supervised the drama CD.
The story takes place in the year 850 at Titan High School in the U.S. where a student hierarchy exists. Confirmed cast includes Marina Inoue as Armin Arlelt , Yui Ishikawa as Mikasa Ackerman, Yūki Kaji as Eren Jaeger, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Reiner Braun, Daisuke Ono as Erwin, Kishō Taniyama as Jean Kirschtein, Shiori Mikami as Historia Reiss, and Hiroshi Kamiya as Levi.
The home video release also includes behind-the-scenes footage from the anime's season three premiere at Anime Expo in Los Angeles this summer.
