Love Live Sunshine!!'s Hanamaru Leads Sakura Wars Collaboration

posted on by Karen Ressler

A collaboration between Love Live! Sunshine!! and Sega's Sakura Wars game franchise is launching on October 27 until December 9, offering a range of merchandise and café items. Hanamaru Kunikida is the poster girl this time around, and she's showing off her Flower Division uniform and very own Koubu.

UFO catcher machines at 187 Sega and AG Square amusement centers across Japan will stock 11 types of clear files for sale from October 27 to November 16, and then switch to nine different types of rubber straps from November 17 to December 9. The items will also be available via lottery through a retweet campaign.

Purchasing these items will also earn participants points towards other prizes, such as a Mega Jumbo Nesoberi plush of Sakura Wars-collab Hanamaru (available via either lottery for two points or purchase for 30 points), Twitter icons, and B1-size posters.

UFO catchers will also offer exclusive prizes. During the first half of the collaboration, they will offer nine types of mini cushion straps, 10 types of tumblers, and one big cushion featuring Hanamaru. The second half will see a scarf featuring Hanamaru and nine types of acrylic straps as prizes.

Participating locations will also give out free postcards to attendees.

The Sega Collabo Café Akihabara 3 will run a Love Live! Sunshine!! and Sakura Wars-themed menu during the collaboration period. There will be 10 types of drinks, three types of dessert parfaits, and two food items: an omelette and sandwich themed after Hanamaru and her Koubu. All items will come with coasters.

Sakura Wars isn't the only upcoming collaboration for the Love Live! Sunshine!! girls: on November 10-11, Aqours is collaborating with the Yosakoi Tokaido event in their hometown of Numazu. The event will feature a yosakoi dance to their song "My Mai Tonight."
