Phantom Thief Jeanne Creator Draws Yuki no Hana Live-Action Film Visual

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Phantom Thief Jeanne manga creator Arina Tanemura drew a new visual for the live-action film Yuki no Hana (Snow Flower) on Friday. The image shows the romance drama's lead characters Miyuki Hirai (Ayami Nakajō) and Yusuke Watabiki (Hiroomi Tosaka) staring longingly into one another's eyes.

Yuki no Hana opened in theaters in Japan on Friday. The story is inspired by Mika Nakashima's 2003 single "Yuki no Hana" and the track is also the film's theme song.

The story follows the physically frail Miyuki who recently received a terminal diagnosis. She decides to fulfill her dream of visiting Finland and witnessing the Northern Lights. She meets an aspiring glass craftsman named Yusuke one day after she's the victim of a theft.

Tanemura watched the film and said that it left her "very impressed," especially how the character Miyuki never expressed her suffering due to her illness but still conveys her feelings.

Tanemura is the second manga artist to draw a visual for the film. Last month, The Rose of Versailles creator Riyoko Ikeda also shared artwork inspired by the film.
